Memories to Last a Lifetime
When I was raising my son as a single parent, the days and weeks seemed an endless time of work, soccer, house chores and special time spent doing things we enjoyed doing together. Everyone always told me how the time flies by when you’re raising a family.
Now my son is away at college and I’m left with the “empty house” and nobody to feed. And I’m constantly reminded of things I used to do raising my son that seemed so normal you never gave it another thought. Like when he was two and would yell out “big daddy truck” every time he saw a big truck. I can still hear his little voice!
And my pregnancy journal; I never knew what to write in that darn thing. At that time, every day just seemed so normal with the daily stuff of life I never considered my thoughts anything special!
Now that I’m the age I am, I have the ability to look back and see how really special all those days were and I miss them. My son is now a young adult and gets a huge kick out of asking me questions about “the olden days”, what my thoughts are on any subject and surprisingly about his birth!
